To unlock doors and locks in Hogwarts Legacy with Alohomora you will need to progress through the main story line until you reach the quest called “The Caretaker’s Lunar Lament” which will give you access to the use of the Alohomora Spell

  1. Find a locked door or chest
  2. Make sure your Alohomora Spell is at the required level for that lock
  3. Press the action button to begin the Spell
  4. Start by using the left analog stick to slowly rotate the locking mechanism until the green spark is seen in the bottom right hand corner
  5. While keeping the left analog stick in position, slowly rotate the right analog stick until the red spark makes the gears in the center of the cogs rotate
  6. Once both sparks are visible, hold both analog sticks still until the lock opens

Throughout Hogwarts Legacy, you will run into locks between the levels of 1-3. To level up your Alohomora Spell, follow the following steps:

  1. Obtain the Alohomora Spell by completing the “Caretakers Lament”
  2. Return 9 Demiguise statues to Gladwin Moon in the Faculty Tower to upgrade your Alohomora spell to level 2
  3. Return 22 Demiguise statues to Gladwin Moon in the Faculty Tower to upgrade your Alohomora spell to level 2
