This curse can be found in the book Curses and Counter-Curses by Vindictus Viridian, and is often taught to young wizards as they begin to learn how to duel. The curse was created sometime prior to 1703, and the incantation to cast it is “Petrificus Totalus.” At Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, this spell is generally taught in the 3rd year.
