Beater

A Beater is one of the player positions in the Wizarding sport Quidditch. They are the only players to carry bats, and their function is to keep the Bludgers away from their own team, and hitting them towards the opposing team. There are two beaters per team.

Presumed to have been a position in Quidditch since the introduction of the Bludger. Beaters are meant to protect their team and are not meant to be score goals.
