Lord Voldemort Biography & History
Lord Voldemort (31 December, 1926 – 2 May, 1998) emerged from humble beginnings as Tom Riddle, a half-blood wizard, to become the most dangerous dark wizard in history. His transformation into Voldemort was driven by a deep-seated fear of death and a desire for power. Educated at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, Riddle was a Slytherin of exceptional intelligence and charisma, who early on showed a disturbing interest in the Dark Arts and immortality.
Voldemort’s rise to power was marked by the creation of Horcruxes, objects containing fragments of his soul, making him nearly immortal. His reign of terror, aimed at purifying the wizarding world of Muggle-borns and establishing himself as its ruler, led to the First and Second Wizarding Wars.
His downfall began with the prophecy regarding the one who could defeat him, leading Voldemort to target Harry Potter as an infant. However, his attempt to kill Harry resulted in his own temporary destruction, due to Lily Potter’s sacrificial protection over her son. Voldemort later regained his body and power, leading to the climactic Battle of Hogwarts where he was ultimately defeated by Harry Potter, ending his reign of terror.
